I’m a fraud. On any given day I say that in my mind about 5 times a day.
I’m not a great mom I’m not a great doula I’m lying to myself and the world… Impostor Syndrome is one of those mysterious mind fucks that affect all of us at one time or another. I don’t have a quick and easy way to avoid this annoyance. My best advice is to counter ever trigger with 3 reasons why you AREN’T an impostor. For me, it looks like I’m a BADASS mom and my kids tell me every day and they mean it! I’m a phenomenal and influential doula, people tell me every day! I’m being as truthful to the world as it is to me. My truth is not defined by a 3rd party. It’s me and this universe. I’m living authentically and that only seems strange because it isn’t normal to live in truth.
The next time you feel the ping of Impostor Syndrome, try countering that thought with the reason why it’s wrong. And don’t worry, it is most definitely wrong.
